Dr. Betensky is a pediatric hematologist who specializes in hemostasis and thrombosis in the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute and serves as medical director of the hospital’s International Patient Services program. She also treats bone marrow failure syndromes and congenital and acquired neutropenias, which are immune system conditions that may result in infections. Dr. Betensky, a native of Mexico, has worked to provide medical education and build capacity of hematology programs in Africa and Latin America and helped develop research projects in Latin America.
