Meet Dr. Mark J. Weingarden
Mark J. Weingarden, D.M.D. is a Board Certified periodontist, with over 25 years of experience in periodontics and in placing dental implants. He has been a leader in the field, often being the first to bring the newest and most state-of-the-art techniques to Pittsburgh. He is well known by colleagues both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Weingarden received his undergraduate education at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine in 1979 and was accepted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the Honorary Dental Society. His post doctoral training was completed at the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Periodontics in 1981.
His awards include the Elliott Brodie Award for Clinical Competence “in recognition for clinical skill and proficiency in patient care…”and the Gilbert Robin Scholarship Award for “having attained the highest scholastic average of his Fraternity for four years”.
He was an assistant clinical …Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh and lectured to post doctoral orthodontic students on occlusion, (study of the bite).
In 1989 he became Board Certified by the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Weingarden served as President of the North Dental Branch of the local Dental Society and the Western Pennsylvania Society of Periodontics. He also served as President of the Pennsylvania Society of Periodontology and is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Academy of Osseointegration.
In 1993, Dr. Weingarden founded the Pittsburgh Dental Network. The PDN is a study group consisting of a select group of outstanding dentists and specialists who join together in the pursuit of higher learning. Their goal is to keep our professional community in the forefront of dental technology while assuring their patients the most up-to-date treatment available.
He resides in Fox Chapel with his wife Debi, his children Jonathan and Hilary and their dog Lucy. His hobbies include 30 years of training and teaching in karate, exercise and most recently golf.
