MARY ANN MIKNEVICH, MD
Mary Ann Miknevich, MD, currently holds many academic and professional positions in Pennsylvania. Dr. Miknevich is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine; and an Amputee Clinic Chief, Pennsylvania State Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. She is the Associate Program Director of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program at UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center). She has affiliations with numerous other hospitals and facilities in the Pittsburgh area and has been featured as a “Top Doctor” in Western Pennsylvania Hospital News, as well as recognized as a “Top Doctor” for Pittsburgh Magazine in 2010 and 2011. She has also been named to the Castle Connolly list of “America’s Top Doctors”. She has been recognized with the “Patient’s Choice Award” by Vitals.com in 2010 and 2011 as well as a “Most Compassionate Physician Award” in 2010. In 2011, she received …a Distinguished Service Award from PARF (Pennsylvania Association of Rehabilitation Facilities) for her work with people with disabilities.
Dr. Miknevich earned a medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She served her internship in Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at St. Francis General Hospital, also in Pittsburgh.
She has published articles in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Critical Reviews in PM&R and the St. Francis Journal of Medicine and has co-authored many poster and paper presentations for annual society meetings. Dr. Miknevich has given numerous lectures and has been the moderator and featured speaker of several professional programs, most recently at the 2009 annual meeting of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, for which she also served as a Workshop Director, and in 2010 where she was an instructor for the Resident training session on Electromyography at the Association of Academic Physiatrist’s Annual meeting.
Dr. Miknevich is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Diplomate of both the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine and the Association of Academic Physiatrists. She is an Oral Board Vignette Writer and a Guest Oral Examiner for the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pain Medicine. She is the President of Medical Rehabilitation, Inc.–a 14 physician private practice group specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.
