Dr. Michel Henry Nahmad, MD

Dr. Nahmad has been a senior attending surgeon at Miami Children’s Hospital for more than 25 years. After graduating from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, he went on to receive his medical degree from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. Dr. Nahmad interned at Charity Hospital of Louisiana in New Orleans where he also did part of his residency in general surgery. He completed his residency in general surgery at the Bronx Municipal Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Nahmad completed the rest of his surgical training at the Children’s Hospital of Columbus Ohio and the University Hospital of Ohio State University. Dr. Nahmad is a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery. He has a certificate of special competence in pediatric surgery. He has been re-certified in pediatric surgery. Dr. Nahmad has been a previous member of the medical board and board of directors. Previously he was also selected …vice chairman of the MCH Board of Directors. At present Dr. Nahmad is a member of a five member group of pediatric surgeons. Besides his busy practice, he is a president of the Miami Children’s Hospital medical staff and is the director of the Division of Thoracic Surgery. He is and has been a member of numerous medical committees and during his training involved in research. He has published various articles in pediatric surgery.
