Dr. Mitch M. Porias received his education at the University of Miami (Florida) and the Kirksville (Missouri) College of Osteopathic Medicine. He practiced in Missouri and taught Ophthalmology at Kirksville College.
Dr. Porias opened his private practice in Houston in 1975 as the North Loop Eye Center, a full-service facility dedicated to good vision and eye health. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including:
American Academy of Ophthalmology
Houston Ophthalmological Association
American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery
American Osteopathic Association
He is also board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Porias contributes his time and expertise to providing medical and surgical treatment of cataracts for people in underprivileged areas. His mission work has taken him to Mexico, Central America (Belize), and El Salvador.
