Dr Mohamad S. Jaafar is currently Professor of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics at the George Washington University and Chief of the Division of Ophthalmology at Childrens National Medical Center. He also serves as Director of the Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship Program, the oldest, largest and most prestigious such fellowship in the world. Dr Jaafar is a sought after clinician, teacher and speaker and is internationally recognized as an authority in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. His opinion is especially sought for his expertise in the diagnosis and management of infantile glaucoma and complicated strabismus in adults and children. He is the author of a number of original scientific papers, abstracts, editorials and book chapters and serves on the editorial board of a number of Ophthalmology peer-reviewed journals. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American College of Surgeons and the …American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the International Strabismological Association, the Washington Academy of Ophthalmology and many other national and international professional societies and associations. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington and the Editorial Board of a number of medical journals.
