Dr. Mohammed Kairy Barazi, MD

Marshall University provided Dr. Barazi’s educational foundation, beginning when he earned his Bachelor of Science degree (with highest honors) there and continuing at the School of Medicine, where he was awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree. His post-doctoral training included an internship in General Surgery at Marshall and a residency in Ophthalmology at George Washington University, where he also served as Chief Resident. It was at The Retina Group of Washington that he completed his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery.
Dr. Barazi is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. He is affiliated with Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown University Hospital, Inova Fairfax and Fair Oaks Hospitals, Friendship Surgery Center and Children’s National Medical Center. He is also a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at the Georgetown University Hospital/Washington National Eye Center Residency Program …and a member of numerous professional societies and academic associations.
In addition to writing several book reviews and chapters, and contributing to a variety of publications, abstracts and presentations, Dr. Barazi has been honored and recognized for his accomplishments. He was named “Resident of the Year” and received the West Virginia Rural Health Fellowship Grant for the establishment of preventative medicine health initiatives in rural West Virginia.
