She obtained her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Florida Atlantic University (FAU).Dr. Bain holds a Diplomate Certification in Acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), a Florida state license, and is a Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist. She also holds a certification in injection therapy. Dr. Bain began her career in health care as an emergency medical technician and discovered acupuncture while attempting to overcome a genetic blood disorder. …Western medicine kept her alive during flares of the disease, but often with too many ill side effects. When Dr. Bain tried acupuncture, she was surprised to find out the effectiveness of the treatments and her perspective changed. The personal experience caused her to switch her career focus from Western to Eastern medicine. Dr. Bain’s work comes from a deep desire to help her patients overcome physical as well as emotional challenges to improve their health and well-being and live their lives pain-free. Dr. Bain’s philosophical approach to treatment includes patient education, lifestyle changes, and herbal medicine. She has over 15 years of clinical experience and is very comfortable within both Western and Eastern medical paradigms. Dr. Bain strongly believes in integrative medicine and works with Western medical doctors to ensure that each patient receives complete care and has the best opportunity for healing. Her focus has been on treating chronic pain, sports injuries, infertility, and neurological disorders. Dr. Bain is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and has called South Florida home for over 25 years. She is also a wife, an ex-cheer mom to her 21-year-old, present lacrosse mom to her 17 and 13-year-old and future soccer mom to her 20-month-old. When away from the clinics, she enjoys spending time with the family or passionately planning her next trip.
