Dr. Najeeb Mohideen, MD

I am currently working as part of a three-person, hospital-based radiation oncology group practice at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill. I joined this practice after eight years in a university-based academic practice at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill., from 1997 to 2005, where I held the positions of Assistant Professor and, later, Associate Professor. My training in Clinical Oncology includes a postgraduate degree from India and a fellowship from the Royal College of Radiologists. Following that I did my residency in radiation oncology at Loyola University between 1994 and 1997.
During my time as an active member, the primary focus of my ASTRO (American Society for Therapeutic Radiation Oncology) service has been within the Health Policy Committee, which I joined soon after residency. I have served in various capacities and leadership roles on the Health Policy Committee as outlined above.
The collaborative work of this committee …has involved the dedication of many. I am proud to say that I have worked actively with numerous individuals in advancing ASTRO’s policy goals. Some of the highlights of the collaborative works with which I was actively associated include developing the ASTRO/ACR coding guides, successfully defending the five-year review of the radiation oncology codes, and developing and valuing new codes through the AMA CPT/RUC process etc.
