Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I have always been fascinated with the field of medicine since my early days when I saw how much of an impact doctors made on the physical and emotional well-being of the patient and their families. Being entrusted to take patients through their toughest times, being an advocate for them, and bringing them the most comprehensive care possible is a humbling experience. It has been a privilege to be able to be in this role and to fulfill my childhood dream.What I want my patients to know about me:As medical director of radiation oncology for WellSpan Health, I am privileged to work closely with the amazing teams at all the radiation oncology practices in our system to offer truly world class care closer to home for the communities we serve. In my own practice, I want to understand my patients’ needs and bring in all facets of multidisciplinary cancer care to help them through their cancer journey and beyond. A diagnosis of cancer can place an …immense burden on patients and their families. I will treat each patient with the care I would offer to my own family and make sure that every possible treatment avenue is explored to maximize their chance of success.What I do when I’m not seeing patients:I enjoy spending time with my family, being a chauffeur for my kids’ sports activities, and traveling. I also continue to be active in research/publishing and serve on several national committees, bringing those cutting-edge experiences to continue improving my own clinical practice.
