Dr. Nomen Azeem, MD

Comprehensive Pain Management and Sports Medicine Specialist with Advanced Training in Clinical and Surgical Techniques
Originally from Washington, DC, Dr. Azeem obtained his undergraduate education at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA and his medical education at the Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica. He served his medical internship at Medstar Harbor Hospital Center in Baltimore, Maryland followed by his residency at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Washington, DC. At that time, he also served as Chief Resident. Dr Azeem is Double Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Pain Medicine.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr Azeem held a faculty position with Medstar Georgetown University/National Rehabilitation Hospital as a Musculoskeletal Medicine Specialist. He then went on to complete his ACGME Interventional Pain Fellowship at Temple University Hospital in …Philadelphia, PA. Most recently, Dr Azeem was an Interventional Pain and Sports Medicine physician as well as Director of Neuro-modulation at Louisiana Pain Specialists in New Orleans, LA.
Dr Azeem has a strong background in interventional therapies for spine disease, complex pain syndromes, peripheral joint disease, sports injuries, and regenerative therapies. He is an expert at both diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Dr Azeem lectures nationally and has authored numerous publications, with several on the subject of PRP (platelet rich plasma). He is a member in the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Association of Academic Physiatrists, the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and the American College of Physicians.
