Dr.Valencia is board certified in General Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and holds a Masters Degree in Public Health with emphasis in Maternal and Child Health. He graduated from medical school in Costa Rica. His postgraduate training was completed at the New York Medical College and the University of South Florida where he participated in research and published in the areas of neonatal nutrition and brain damage. Dr. Valencia joined the staff at Miami Children’s Hospital in 1995 and is actively involved in the transport of high-risk neonates. He has lectured locally and in Nicaragua.
