After years of feeling like cattle being herded through appointments, Dr. Romano was a revelation. I came in for what I thought was just stress-related fatigue, but instead of the usual 5-minute ‘take some vitamins’ speech, he asked about my work schedule, caffeine intake, even my gym routine. Turns out my ‘stress’ was actually a combination of mild sleep apnea and iron deficiency – who knew?
What makes him different? He explains medical concepts like you’re a smart person who just happens to not be a doctor. When I didn’t understand my bloodwork, he drew a quick diagram on the exam table paper. His follow-up is incredible too – I actually got a personal email checking in after starting new meds, not just an automated portal message.
As someone who’s chronically time-poor, I appreciate that his appointments start on time but never feel rushed. The only downside? Now my husband and our neighbors all want to switch to him too. Sorry-not-sorry, Dr. Romano – you’re stuck with us!
