Dr. Ponnila Sunderi Marinescu, MD

Dr. Marinescu is a medical graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia. During her residency, she was recognized for her excellence in teaching and strong commitment to patient care, including receiving the Arnold P. Gold Foundation’s Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. She was also recently awarded the Brodie Resident Clinician Award for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia for exemplary care of and compassion towards her patients.
Dr. Marinescu’s research interests focus on obstructive sleep apnea in pregnancy, specifically addressing whether the STOPBANG score can predict adverse pregnancy outcomes. She has presented her work both locally and nationally, and she aspires to expand her research in Columbus. During her free time, Dr. Marinescu enjoys dancing, reading historical fiction, and spending time with her husband and …dog.
