Dr. Prashant (shawn) Kumar, MD

Dr. Prashant (Shawn) Kumar received his medical degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine, Grand Cayman, BWI. He went on to complete his residency in Anesthesiology at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport LA, and a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL. While at Rush Medical Center, Dr. Kumar was appointed to the medical staff there, and became an instructor in the Department of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Kumar belongs to many professional organizations including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He is dually board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Kumar joins our Pain Medicine Practice at Shore Drive and also works as an Anesthesiologist.
His medical interests include management and diagnosis of complex regional pain syndrome and spinal cord …stimulation to treat various pain conditions. Dr. Kumar’s hobbies include volunteering as a high-performance driving instructor in various sports car clubs.
