Dr. Ravi Shah attended Rice University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science and Managerial Studies. Upon graduating magna cum laude from Rice, he earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine where he graduated with high honors. He was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha as a junior. “AOA” is a national medical honor society that promotes and recognizes excellence in the medical profession.
After finishing medical school, Dr. Shah moved to Los Angeles, California where he completed his Internal Medicine internship at White Memorial Medical Center in Boyle Heights. After this year-long internship, he started his Ophthalmology residency at the Roski Eye Institute at the University of Southern California. Here, Dr. Shah served as the chief resident during his final year of residency and joined the Los Angeles Society of Ophthalmologists. Dr. Shah also received the Senior Resident Teaching Award.
Following his chief residency, Dr. Shah moved back …to Texas where he began his fellowship at the Cullen Eye Institute of Baylor College of Medicine to specialize in cornea, refractive, and anterior segment surgery.
Dr. Shah is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been published in seven highly noted peer-reviewed articles and two book chapters. In his free time, Dr. Shah enjoys rock climbing, playing board games, and biking with his wife.
