My interest in medicine comes from my own experiences in medical care as a child after being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age six. My goal in providing care is to help disease management fit into my patients’ lives rather than expecting them to change everything about their lives to fit their disease. Because of my own experiences, I have a special interest in diabetes, but I enjoy taking care of patients with all endocrine conditions. I have dual training in adult and pediatric endocrinology which gives me unique insight into the challenges of chronic disease management for adolescents and young adults. My research focuses on improving outcomes and quality of life among young adults with diabetes, particularly those with executive function challenges. Outside of work, I enjoy running, hiking, or baking with my husband, young daughter, and border collie.
