Dr. Regina Lo Sun, MD

Berkeley Eye Center is proud to welcome Fellowship-trained, board certified, Cornea Specialist Regina Sun, MD to our medical staff. Dr. Sun is a native Houstonian who grew up in nearby Katy and is now pleased to once again call Houston home. Following graduation at the top of her class at Katy Taylor High School, Dr. Sun attended college and medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago. She then completed her residency in ophthalmology at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed her Cornea and Refractive surgery fellowship training at the University of Minnesota Medical School. There she gained experience in complex cataract surgery, modern corneal transplantation techniques and wavefront-guided refractive laser surgery. She has also authored textbook chapters and research articles for peer-reviewed journals, such as American Journal of Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology and Ophthalmology. As a senior …resident, she was a recipient of a Goar Award, given each year for excellence in resident research. She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Houston Ophthalmological Society. Her duties at Berkeley Eye Center, Pearland, include the comprehensive ophthalmic care of patients with cataract, glaucoma and diabetes. In addition, Dr. Sun has interests in dry eye, minimally invasive corneal transplants and refractive surgery such as LASIK. Dr. Sun has participated in international mission trips including working with a local ophthalmologist in rural China. She is also proficient in Mandarin and Spanish, and her hobbies include biking, gardening and photography.
