Dr. Richard Greg Gorlick, MD

Dr. Gorlick, Vice Chairman of Pediatrics and Division Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, received his MD degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, and he trained at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he remained as a faculty member until 2004, when he joined Albert Einstein College of Medicine and The Childrens Hospital at Montefiore. Dr. Gorlick has directed a research laboratory since 1998 focused on drug resistance and mechanisms of pathogenesis in osteosarcoma with a view to improving treatment options through identifying therapeutic targets. He was instrumental at initiating the Children’s Oncology Group’s (COG) Bone Tumor Banking Effort, and his laboratory remains a national osteosarcoma resource laboratory as well as a member of the Pediatric Preclinical Testing Program. His clinical interests are in the care of children and young adults afflicted with sarcomas. He has published over 150 …peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and reviews. Much of Dr. Gorlick’s work involves national international collaborations. He has held many leadership positions in the COG and currently serves as Chair of the Bone Tumor Disease Committee. He also serves as a member of the Clinical Trials Group of the Sarcoma Alliance for Research Through Collaboration (SARC). He serves on many review panels, advisory and editorial boards, including being Treasurer for the Connective Tissue Oncology Society.
