Dr. Richard Spira, MD

Dr. Spira is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology with subspecialty expertise in cardiovascular imaging, body imaging and head and neck imaging. Currently, he is Director of Cardiac CT for Broward Health and North Broward Radiologists, PA, and established the Cardiac CT imaging program for Broward Health. He is the former Vice Chief of Staff and Medical Director of Radiology and Medical Imaging at IPMC. Prior to joining North Broward Radiologists, PA, Dr. Spira was the Chief of Computed Tomography and Associate Chief of Interventional Radiology at Cedars Medical Center in Miami.
Dr. Spira received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his medical internship at Boston City Hospital and radiology residency in the Harvard Radiology Program at Beth Israel Hospital. He then completed two years of fellowship in the Tufts University Radiology Program at the Boston VA Medical Center. Dr Spira has held appointments as Clinical Assistant …Professor of Radiology at the University of Miami School of Medicine, and Clinical Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He has authored or co-authored approximately 15 scientific papers and has made numerous presentations and lectures at local and national scientific meetings.
