Dr. Richard Sylvester Pergolizzi, MD

Dr. Pergolizzi has more than fourteen years of experience in dedicated full time neurointerventional surgery and interventional neuroradiology. His medical education was completed at the Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine followed by a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Cincinnati University Hospital. He then spent three additional years in fellowship subspecialty training in diagnostic neuroradiology, interventional neuroradiology and neurointerventional surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Massachusetts General Hospital, both primary teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical School. While there, he was selected as an NIH research fellow and participated in state-of-the-art research and clinical work involving the Brigham’s intraoperative/interventional MRI surgical unit. The author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Pergolizzi is a member of the American College of Radiology, the Society of Neurointerventional …Surgeons, the Association of University Radiologists, the Radiological Society and a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology. He has been designated a “Top Doctor” for the last several years by both the Washingtonian and Northern Virginia magazines.
