Dr. Robert Stoner has been in the full-time  practice of orthodontics since 1983. He has the experience of having successfully treated over 7000 patients in the past 28 years. He received his D.D.S. (doctor of dental surgery)  from Indiana University and his M.S.(Master’s of Science)  in Orthodontics from the University of Michigan.  He has been aDiplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics since 1993. He is honored to be on the teaching staff of the Tweed Course in Tucson, Arizona, the oldest ongoing continuing education program in orthodontics and  all of dentistry which is given twice a year. It has been attended by more orthodontists than any other continuing education program in all of dentistry since its inception in 1941. Dr. Stoner is a member of the Board  of Directors of the Charles H. Tweed International Foundation for Orthodontic Education and Research as well  as a member of admissions committee. Dr. Stoner has been elected to full membership in the prestigious …Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, named after the professions founder. Less than 1% of orthodontists receive this honor.   He has volunteered as a clinical professor in the Department of Orthodontics at Indiana University School of Dentistry  for over 10 years.  He has developed numerous techniques for moving teeth and controlling the supporting bones and has headed numerous research projects.  He is past president of the Indianapolis Chapter of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity.  He has been a guest lecturer and given courses at numerous universities, symposiums and study clubs in the United States and Europe.  He is a member of the  American Association of Orthodontics, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists,  a Fellow of the Charles H. Tweed Foundation for Orthodontic Education and Research, the Michigan Tweed Study Club, the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, the Indiana Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Indiana Dental Association, and the Indianapolis District Dental Society.  Dr. Robert A. Stoner is the son of one of the professions pioneers, Dr. Morris Stoner (1919 – 1985).  Dr. Stoner’s hobbies include bicycling, jazz guitar,and snow skiing.  Dr. Stoner and his wife Tracy are busy with five children, a Labrador Retriever, and a Golden Retriever.
