ROBERT J. WOZNIAK, M.D. is an interventional cardiologist who focuses on the progressive treatment of the heart, carotid and peripheral arterial disease. Dr. Wozniak earned the American Heart Association Provider of the Year Award in 2005 and Distinguished Service Award in 2007. For five consecutive years, he was voted by colleagues as one of Austin’s “Super Doctors.”
Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Wozniak’s extensive practice involves: preventive cardiology, cholesterol management and hypertension, angioplasty and stent placement, laser/rotational atherectomy, and pacemaker implantation. Dr. Wozniak actively serves as a leader in the American Heart Association “Mission Lifeline” Quality Care initiative for the collaborative treatment of heart attacks.
Dr. Wozniak is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of both the Travis County Medical …Society and the Texas Medical Association. He presently functions as the Cardiac Catheterization Director of North Austin Medical Center.
Dr. Wozniak graduated with honors from LaSalle University. He earned his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, D. C. and completed training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology fellowship training at the Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.
As a graduating medical student, Dr. Wozniak received the Thomas F. Keliher Award in Internal Medicine given in recognition for compassion in medicine. Dr. Wozniak served the US Army Medical Corps and was named outstanding teacher, earned The Army Achievement medal and The Meritorious Service Medal as the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Cardiac Intervention while at Tripler Army Medical Center- Honolulu, Hawaii.
Dr. Wozniak, who goes by the familiar nickname “Woz,” is married and has two daughters. He enjoys time with his family, swimming, cooking, and filming.
