Dr. Robert L. Whipple IV, MD

Dr. Whipple earned his medical degree at Emory School of Medicine and completed his residency in pediatrics at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.A fourth generation physician and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, he is board certified in pediatrics. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians Pediatrics at Newnan, Dr. Whipple was in practice at Piedmont Pediatrics at Piedmont Medical Plaza for eleven years.He is actively involved in the community, providing sports physicals for the Special Olympics and pediatric care to the children the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home in Palmetto and the Angel’s House and serving as a physician advisor to the Keith Brooking Foundation. Dr. Whipple serves as the chairman of the Department of Pediatrics and director of newborn and neonatal services at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.He leads a team of neonatal nurse practitioners caring for all well and sick babies in the hospital.
