Dr. Gibbs has been providing medical care to Moncks Corner and surrounding communities for over 25 years. In 1973 Dr. Gibbs became the first African-American female to receive a medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina.
She completed her residency in Internal medicine and her Infectious Disease Fellowship at Howard University, and obtained her Tropical Medicine Certificate from The Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. Before establishing her practice in Moncks Corner, she served as a U.S. Peace Corps Medical Officer.
