Dr. Rubina A. Heptulla, MD

As Division Chief of Pediatric Endocrinology at The Childrens Hospital at Montefiore, Dr. Heptulla is transforming the division in many areas and is recruiting leading researchers in many areas of endocrinological research. An internationally recognized pediatric endocrinologist, Dr. Heptulla was awarded the McNair Scholar for Juvenile Diabetes by the Janice and Robert McNair Foundation. She is also the recipient of many grants from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Her areas of research expertise encompass all aspects of diabetes, from the artificial pancreas project to the use of innovative therapies to treat both type 1 and 2 diabetes. Dr. Heptulla has many peer-reviewed journal publications. , she serves as a grant reviewer for the NIH and as a reviewer for many leading diabetes journals.
