Dr. Ruth E. Borgen, MD

I have been at Hackensack University Medical Center since 1998. Prior to my arrival, I served as Associate Medical Director of the pediatric ED at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. After residency I spent a year at the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans in Louisiana where I served as Chief Resident.
I am the founding medical director of HUMC’s pediatric emergency department (PED). The creation and development of a state-of-the-art pediatric emergency department was critical to the growth and development of our Children’s Hospital. I nurtured the PED’s growth for eighteen years. In 2016, I assumed a new responsibility, creating a pediatric urgent care center in Clifton where I currently serve as medical director. I still enjoy caring for the PED patients as a per diem attending and enjoy teaching residents and students.
