A Plastic Surgeon specializing in Hand & Microsurgery, certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery/Hand, Dr. Sharma uses the latest techniques proven to be safe, effective and innovative. He completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis where he majored in Chemistry and Biochemistry. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1992 and entered Medical School at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston that same year. He has had the luxury and benefit of training at preeminent institutions with some of this countrys most renowned surgeons. The Texas Medical Center served as the backdrop for his combined General Surgery and Plastic Surgery training at Baylor College of Medicine; the broad scope of training included extensive experience in aesthetic surgery, breast reconstruction and augmentation, congenital and pediatric plastic surgery, trauma reconstruction, and hand and microsurgery. An additional one year Orthopedic …Hand Surgery Fellowship at the University of Washington Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine further developed Dr. Sharmas skills as a hand surgeon. Additional expertise gained in areas such as wrist pain and pathology, small joint and wrist arthritis, joint replacement, wrist arthroscopy, endoscopic carpal tunnel release, distal radius fractures and trauma reconstruction enabled him to become a well-rounded, yet keen specialist in hand surgery. Dr. Sharma has published numerous articles in both plastic surgery and hand surgery.
