Dr Avant attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate work.  She earned her dental degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, one of the top-ranked dental schools in the world.  Afterwards, she completed a residency at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY where she received her Certificate in Endodontics and her Masters in Oral Biology.
She earned her Diplomate status with the American Board of Endodontics in 1998 after a rigorous written, clinical, and oral examination process.
She has been certified to perform all levels of conscious sedation, not just oral sedation in order to better care for her more anxious patients.
As an instructor, she was the course director for the Endodontics I predoctoral course in 1994 at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry.
Dr Avant was published in the Journal of Oral Surgery, Oral …Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontics 1998; 85:244-7 .  Her research helped pioneer the field of digital imaging in dentistry.
Dr Avant has been practicing in Volusia and Flagler Counties since 1995.  She is a respected and active member of a number of professional societies such as the ADA, the ASDA, the VFDA, and the AAE.
She is dedicated to giving her patients exceptional personalized care. She not only performs specialized  endodontic and dental implant  procedures she also offer Botox and Anti-wrinkle fillers.
