Dr. Stephen Michael Sims, MD

Dr. Stephen M. Sims has been a reputable figure in the medical field since 1993, following his graduation from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. Here, he also completed his anesthesiology residency and pain management fellowship. He then contributed to UTMB as an assistant professor until he accepted the role of Medical Director at Huntsville Surgery Center in Huntsville, Texas. After a four-year tenure as director, Dr. Sims established North Lakes Pain Consultants in 2002, where he continues to provide care for chronic pain patients in North Houston. In addition to his work at NLPC, Dr. Sims also imparts his knowledge and skills to other physicians at M.D. Anderson Hospital in his capacity as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Dr. Sims holds the distinction of being an Expert Panelist for the Texas Medical Board and has double board certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology in both Pain Management and Anesthesiology. His active …memberships span across several associations including the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Texas Pain Society. Renowned in the North Houston community, Dr. Sims is recognized as a leader by his colleagues and patients.
