Steven A. Lee-Kong, M.D., is a fellowship-trained, board certified colorectal surgeon who is part of Hackensack Meridian Medical Group as the Division Chief of Colorectal Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Lee-Kong has expertise in all areas of colorectal surgery and over a decade of experience in minimally invasive, sphincter-saving colorectal resection. Specifically, Dr. Lee-Kong focuses on advanced surgery for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis) as well as Colorectal Cancer.
Dr. Lee-Kong has a passion for surgical education. Prior to joining HMH, he was appointed as an Associate Professor of Surgery and served as the Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Lee-Kong is a distinguished researcher with more than forty publications relating to colorectal surgery and surgical education. He has been recognized as one of the ‘Super Doctors’ from the Rising Stars …Edition of the New York publication, which identifies top doctors as selected by their peers. He has also been identified by Castle Connolly as a top doctor from 2016 through 2022.  He will be working alongside colorectal surgeon Ryan Moore, M.D. and Howard Ross, M.D. Chair of Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center, who is a colon and rectal surgeon with more than 20 years of experience.
