Dr. Zito is dually board certified in rheumatology and internal medicine. She practices medicine in Largo, Florida at Suncoast Internal Medicine Consultants where she is a co-owner of the practice, She has been awarded the distinction of fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. Dr. Zito received her medical degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa 2002. She received her undergraduate Bachelors degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and a Masters in Public Health from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. She completed her internship and internal medicine residency programs at Suncoast Hospital in Largo, FL whereby she was the co-chief resident. Dr. Zito completed her Rheumatology fellowship training with the joint programs of Nova Southeastern University, Bay Pines VA Medical Center and Sun Coast Hospital. Since graduation she has remained an active clinical professor in these …training programs and was awarded the distinction of Instructor of the Year in 2008. Dr. Zito has been a medical guest correspondent on the morning show ‘Balancing Act’ on Lifetime television networks. She is also the proud recipient of the Patients’ Choice award 2008 to present, whereby less than 5% of national physicians are awarded this honor. She has authored several papers in medical journals and is active in the community when not practicing medicine.
