Dr. Thomas Edward Kehn, MD

Dr. Kehn wanted a career in which he could really make a difference in peoples lives. He feels blessed to have picked a specialty that allows him to quickly and comfortably improve peoples vision and the quality of their lives. His greatest reward for his work happens every day and is simply hearing thank you from his patients. Dr. Kehn has been in practice since 1991. Before moving to the area, Dr. Kehn was Chief of Ophthalmology at McClellan AFB in California for 4 years and was a leader in implementing cost-cutting measures while still increasing efficiency and outcomes. His military service is an important part of his background and he is honored that he was able to serve his country in this way. His clinical interests include general ophthalmology, diabetic eye care and cataract surgery. He has published several research papers. Dr. Kehn chose to bring his patients to Forest Health because it offered him and his patients state-of-the-art equipment in a comfortable patient …setting close to his office. Forest Health also allowed his input on decisions impacting his patients. Because FHMC values input and feedback, he has been able to mold the surgical experience for the patients. That is very important to him. He has also found that FHMC truly cares for its patients and really makes them feel welcome. His patients have commented that they felt very comfortable and happy to have had their surgery performed at Forest Health. People who have had surgery here have been extremely complimentary about the experience. They never felt rushed or felt like a number. The “personal touch” Forest Health provides is refreshing. In his spare time, Dr. Kehn enjoys time with his family and extended family. He enjoys the sports of basketball, running and (recently) tennis.
