Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:My dream at the age of 18 was to become a professional baseball player. I was All-Conference as a freshman at Ursinus College and majored in pre-med as a “”backup plan.”” I transferred to Baylor University, and fortunately, as it turned out, I was not good enough to make the higher level team. I therefore concentrated all of my efforts into my academic studies. I had come to realize that my energies were better placed into working toward caring for others. When my mother-in-law developed breast cancer, I developed a passion for breast surgery and general surgery.What I want my patients to know about me:I try to care for you as I would want to be cared for. I have been happily married to my wife, Judy, for over 40 years. I have, as of today, three children and nine grandchildren, who I adore. I have been a part of the Gettysburg/Hanover community for nearly 30 years and as of April, 2024, I will be caring for patients in Chambersburg and …Waynesboro areas. Over the years, my general surgical practice has evolved and has become limited to the treatment of breast and thyroid disease.What I do when I’m not seeing patients:I love outdoor activities like hiking. I spend most of my free time with my wife and grandkids. I love traveling, and love to go to the shore/beach. I’m originally from Philadelphia, so I like to watch the Phillies and the Eagles when I can.
