Meet the Staff Dr. Todd Matsumoto joined the practice in 2006, after serving in the armed forces. He enjoys working with people, and is dedicated to upholding our practice’s mission to provide the highest quality treatment, create beautiful smiles in a positive, warm, and caring environment, and to treat each patient as the unique individual that they are. Dr. Matsumoto looks forward to working with you and your family, and all of the smiles you have yet to share. Education Dr. Todd Matsumoto was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended the University of Southern California for undergraduate studies in Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering. He then headed north to Seattle, WA, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Washington. After graduating, Dr. Matsumoto signed on with the United States Air Force and served for four years as a general dentist in Sacramento, CA, where he was recognized as Company Grade Officer of the Year in 1997. He …was awarded sponsorship from the Armed Forces Institute of Technology to attend the University of Southern California for his three-year specialty training in orthodontics. There, he received a master of science (MS) degree in Craniofacial Biology and a certificate in orthodontics; he also served as a member of the dental ethics committee for the School of Dentistry. Following his residency, the Air Force stationed Dr. Matsumoto in Misawa, Japan, where he provided orthodontic treatment to active duty military personnel and their family members. He was also assigned a command position to manage support functions within the 64 member Dental Squadron. After proudly serving in the Air Force for ten years, Dr. Matsumoto decided to return to the ranks of civilian life and in 2006, joined Dr. Kawata in private practice in Corona, CA. Continuing Education Dr. Matsumoto is a member of the: American Association of Orthodontists American Board of Orthodontics American Dental Association As a member of these professional orthodontic and dental associations, Dr. Matsumoto has the opportunity to participate in continuing education opportunities. With continuing education, Dr. Matsumoto is able to offer his patients the most advanced treatment options for their orthodontic care. Family and Community Dr. Matsumoto is happily married to his wonderful wife, Michelle, and they are the proud parents of an energetic five-year old son, Matthew. Dr. Matsumoto enjoys traveling with his family and is an avid sports fan. Together, with Dr. Kawata, Dr. Matsumoto is happy being a part of the Corona community, and seeing all of the wonderful, smiling faces that come in and out of our practice.
