Dr. Walid Aref Osta, MD

Medical School: Dr. Osta graduated from the medical school of the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 2002.
Residency: Dr. Osta did his anesthesia residency at Wayne State University between 2005 and 2009. During this residency, he acquired a very rich experience in the fields of anesthesia and pain management and published 2 articles in prestigious journals.
Fellowship: Dr. Osta did a fellowship in pain medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), between 2009 and 2010. The UPMC pain management program is one of the most prestigious pain centers in the United States. At UPMC, Dr. Osta developed an extensive experience in the newest and cutting edge science and techniques in the treatment of the various pain conditions.
Board Certifications: Dr. Osta finished his board certification in Anesthesiology from the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) in 2010. He then obtained the board certication in Interventional Pain Medicine the same year from the …American Board of Anesthesiology-Pain Medicine. Dr. Osta passed all his boards from the first attempt.
Research: Dr. Osta did a cancer research fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina which resulted in several publications in prestigious journals between 2002 and 2005. During that period, he also did an internship in general surgery.
Academics: Dr. Osta is a clinical associate professor in 2 of the major universities in Michigan. He is closely involved in educating and training residents and fellows at one of the major hospitals in Detroit, where he serves as the director of the pain services.
Experience: Dr. Osta is committed to the newest, most current technologies and cutting-edge treatments that are tailored to the patient%u2019s condition, using medical and interventional approaches. He incorporates many advanced technologies in his practice to better treat or eliminate the different pain conditions.
