In your first session, the focus is on getting to know you. I will explore your history (including lifestyle, relationships, major life events, and family background) to understand what has led you to where you are today. We’ll also talk about what has brought you in for therapy, your symptoms, and your primary goals for our journey together. How long does it take to see results from therapy? Honest truth: It’s different for everyone. The goal is not to adopt you as a therapy client forever; it’s to help you accomplish your goals and transform your life. Therapy is a process that requires time, effort, and, most importantly, your commitment to making changes in your life. What should a new client know about working with you?My core values of compassion, kindness, and resilience shape my approach to care as a therapist. These values are deeply rooted in my personal experiences as a new immigrant, an atheist-turned-Nichiren Buddhist, and a single mother. I believe that pain is an inevitable part of life but suffering is optional because we all have the innate strength and resilience to face any challenges that come our way. I see these challenges as opportunities for growth and believe that we all have the potential to unlock unlimited possibilities in life. I believe that love and kindness are the ultimate balm for broken hearts and lost souls and that compassion helps us connect and work together to create a better world. These beliefs inform my humanistic, insight-driven approach to psychotherapy. What is your typical process for working with clients? In working with me, you can expect sessions that feel like purposeful conversations. I will ask questions and you will have the opportunity to think and respond. We will explore different patterns and themes that emerge in our conversations. It is normal to experience a range of emotions during our sessions, including sadness, anger, or other difficult feelings. These emotions are an indicator that we are making progress, and I will be there to help you work through them and understand their root causes. My clients have often reported feeling relieved, lighter, hopeful, optimistic, energized, motivated, and empowered after our sessions; these 50 minutes can be truly transformative and life-changing.Do you take insurance? Some therapists in my practice accept Aetna, Optum, United Healthcare and Oscar. No Medicare or Medicaid (AHCCCS) accepted. We will require the following info to verify your eligibility, deductibles, and copay before scheduling a consultation: your Date of Birth, Member ID/ Subscriber#, Group ID, Insurance Primary Holder’s Full Name, Date of Birth and Address (including zip code).Couple therapy is NOT covered by insurance. Most of us are (OON) out-of-network providers. Many health insurance plans cover mental health therapy. Some plans may provide partial or full reimbursement for OON services and may also allow you to submit to your Flexible Spending Account. Wiser Counseling partners with Rimbursify to check your Out of Network benefits and file claims at no additional cost. Please ask if you would like to take advantage of this benefit to cover some of your therapy costs. What are your service fees?We are so glad that you’ve decided to put your mental wellness as a top priority. Therapy is an investment in YOUR well-being. It also benefits the people you love because when you feel better, you are able to put more time and attention into your relationships. Anna’s rate is $200 per 50-min session. Her team members’ rates range from $120 – $180 per 50-min session, depending on their experiences and availability.
