Dr. Aaron Liu, M.D., specializes in Mental Health Prescribing and Supportive Education, catering to a diverse patient base spanning from adolescents to older adults. With a focus on evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions such as ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, Dr. Liu emphasizes comprehensive care through medication management. Following his residency at Underwood-Memorial Family Practice Residency and a clinical fellowship in geriatrics at Temple University Hospital, Dr. Liu gained extensive experience in family practice and geriatric care in Northeast Philadelphia, particularly in nursing homes where he addressed mental health challenges among elderly patients.
Dr. Liu’s career expanded further as he ran a geriatric clinic at the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, prescribing medications for adult patients coping with anxiety, mood disorders, and chronic illnesses. His commitment to mental health care extended to diverse populations …including university students and veterans. Notably, as medical director of the Wilmington Veterans Administration Medical Center Community Living Center, he provided specialized care for veterans with complex mental health needs, including PTSD. Transitioning into Addiction Medicine, Dr. Liu became Board-Certified in 2021 and served as a medical director in Bucks County, focusing on Medication-Assisted Treatment for substance use disorders alongside mental health evaluation and treatment.
In 2023, Dr. Liu established his private practice in Bryn Mawr, aiming to make his expertise more accessible to the general public. His practice continues to reflect his dedication to comprehensive mental health care, blending prescribing expertise with supportive education for patients across the lifespan.
