Dr. Elbash has a Bachelor of Science degree from the West Virginia University and a medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia. Wanting to stay close to family during his father’s illness, Dr. Elbash decided to complete his residency at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.
After completing his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Connecticut and Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, Dr. Elbash practiced with Richmond Cardiology Associates in Richmond, Indiana. He joined South Texas Cardiovascular Consultants in May 2015 and will see patients in their Kerrville and Fredericksburg locations. Dr. Elbash performs transradial cardiac catheterizations, a procedure which offers the unique radial access interventions, where, instead of inserting catheters in the groin (femoral access), Dr. Elbash can insert the catheter in the wrist where patients are likely to experience less bleeding, will have …less discomfort and often spend less time in hospital.
Committed to being a well-rounded cardiologist who can meet the diverse needs of his patients, Dr. Elbash is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, endovascular medicine, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. He is a registered physician in vascular interpretation. He belongs to a number of professional organizations, including American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology, Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, American Medical Association, American Heart Association, American Society of Echocardiography, and American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
