Born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Dr. Keller attended Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. He completed a two-year Internal Medicine residency at Boston City Hospital and a two-year fellowship in Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), where he remained for one year as senior investigator.
Dr. Keller is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He has served as principal investigator for the NCI-funded Community Clinical Oncology Program that includes the North Central Cancer Treatment Group (NCCTG), the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), and the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG). In addition he was formerly the Co-medical Medical Director of Clinical Research for U.S. Oncology. He continues to serve on the medical and scientific advisory boards of several pharmaceutical companies …that are developing new treatments for patients with cancer.
He is currently serving on the Medical Oncology Exam committee of the ABIM designing the test for Medical Oncology board certification. He serves on the ASCO Task Force in Medical Oncology research and the co-chair of the provided sub-committee for the summit on clinical trial in oncology.
