Alan P. Moelleken, MD at The Spine Center
At the Spine Center, Dr. Moelleken and his team of practitioners, including physical therapists, pain psychologists, physiatrists and board certified pain management physicians, address patients needs on an individual basis using a multi-disciplinary approach for surgical and non-surgical treatment of the spine.
The Spine Center Team strongly believes in approaching neck and back problems from a conservative (non-surgical) treatment perspective prior to recommending surgery. We have found that a conservative approach utilizing a variety of modalities, ranging from physical therapy to spinal injections can be extremely effective in managing many patients neck and back related symptoms. However, if surgery is required, we offer the latest techniques, including minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Moelleken is one of the few spine specialists on the central coast. He is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who received his medical degree …from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and subsequently completed an orthopedic surgical residency at UCLA. In addition, Dr. Moelleken completed a dedicated spine fellowship at New York University which included both orthopedic and neurosurgery. He has taught neuron and orthopedic surgery at Bellevue Hospital Medical Center in the New York and the New York University Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Moelleken has made a significant contribution to the medical community through his medical journal publications and his chairmanship of the Tri-County Spine Conference during the past nine years.
