Amy discovered audiology when she was in high school after her sister told her about an audiology/pathology course she took. She decided to research the field and very quickly realized it was the perfect career fit for her.She enjoys the variety of audiology care and building relationships with her patients while helping them improve.Amy has a special interest in diagnostic hearing evaluations for children and adults. She is also experienced in working with hearing aids and helping patients with hearing loss prevention. She considers her sister to be one of her biggest life influencers and one of the main reasons for pursuing audiology.Amy was also influenced by her parents who have profound hearing loss. Her experience growing up in the hard-of-hearing/deaf community has helped her understand the challenges associated with hearing loss.In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, camping and spending time outdoors, and long-distance running.I incorporate …my personal experience as a family member of individuals with hearing loss into my care with the patients I see. I recognize how hearing loss affects communication outside of the clinic and I feel that helps me to provide excellent and personalized care.
