Dr Andy Swanson

Dr. Swanson graduated in 2005 from the National University of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Following 6 years of study, he completed a 2-year residency. He has explored first hand how other cultures approach healing, and weaves these global perspectives into a medical model grounded in a complete understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This includes the use of diagnostic labs and imaging when necessary.
Dr. Swanson offers a unique approach to the treatment of the brain and nervous system disorders. Born out of his personal battle with a neurological disorder at age 23, he has developed practical ways to heal conditions such as concussions, TBI, stroke, anxiety, insomnia, migraines, and other nervous system related disorders. He integrates cutting edge theories of the brain with traditional medical approaches designed to optimize nervous system recovery. He writes and lectures on various medical topics, and is a contributing author …to a recently published book, entitled The Concussion Repair Manual, by Dan Engle, MD.
Chronic pain is another sub-specialty of Dr. Swanson. He addresses pain following motor vehicles accidents, sports-related injury, arthritis, disc herniation, carpal tunnel, tendonitis, or plantar fasciitis. He seeks to reduce acute pain and discomfort with acupuncture, hands-on body work, shiatsu, spinal adjustments, and/or trigger point injection therapies. He is trained in prolozone and neural therapy to reduce soft tissue and joint pain. In some cases, these techniques can reduce scarring, pain, and improve range of motion.
Dr. Swanson will take time to explore lifestyle habits, and make dietary suggestions when appropriate. He works with conditions such as IBS, ulcerative colitis, leaky gut, gallbladder and liver disease. Some may benefit from IV vitamin mineral infusions. IVs are formulated using traditional recipes, and nutrients are modified to meet the needs of the patient.
