Anna Wachtel, MD
Dr. Wachtel is the recipient of the 2022 Marquis Who’s Who in America award, awarded for the position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in the field of Psychiatry.  She has also received the Patient’s top choice award across all patient categories.  Her view on Psychiatry as an important step toward feeling well and living fully is discussed in an article in ENEWS.
Dr. Wachtel is experienced in treating Psychiatric conditions including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and eating disorder.  She also focuses on treating dual diagnosis patients, who have both psychiatric illness and an alcohol or drug problem.  She believes in the importance of developing a trusting relationship, in working together as a team.
EDUCATION
Dr. Wachtel trained in New York City at the Beth Israel Medical Center Albert Einstein College …of Medicine, Residency in Psychiatry. She is thoroughly trained in the most modern diagnosis and treatment of Psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder and eating disorders. Treatment is within a caring, warm and nonjudgmental setting, where she works with each patient to understand their individual feelings, concerns and goals and together formulate a treatment plan for healthier, happier and more fulfilling living.
Dr. Wachtel speaks fluent English, Italian, Hebrew, Russian and Polish. Having traveled and lived in a number of countries around the world, she has a heightened awareness of cultural differences and a sensitivity to individual beliefs. By working with each patient as an individual, with proper medication as needed and talk therapy, a person more easily moves forward, relates better to themselves and others and more readily achieves their goals. Together with other efforts such as yoga, a good night’s sleep and balanced nutrition a powerful effect occurs for our health and our goals.
