Dr. Mehta is a Texas native that earned her medical degree from Touro University Nevada and completed her residency at Medical City Fort Worth. There she was awarded the high honor of serving as Chief Resident, and was recognized with the Resident of the Year award. Dr. Mehta continued to pursue specialized training following her residency, and as a result of her outstanding work, she was deemed Fellow of the Year during her Gastroenterology Fellowship which was also at Medical City Fort Worth. Additionally, Dr. Mehta completed a Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center. She is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty certification in Gastroenterology. Dr. Mehta is proficient in upper endoscopies, variceal banding, colonoscopies, liver biopsies, paracenteses, and ERCPs. Her clinical interests include treating …metabolic and fatty liver diseases, viral hepatitis, autoimmune hepatitis as well as cirrhosis and its complications.
Dr. Mehta is dedicated to pursuing clinical research to further advance her field, as well as the quality of care for her patients. In addition to her professional pursuits, Dr. Mehta is also fluent in both English and Marathi, enjoys reading, traveling, live music, and spending time with her husband, two young children, and large extended family.
