Carlos A. Bagley, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with Saint Luke’s Neurological & Spine Surgery. Dr. Bagley is Chief, Department of Neurosurgery; Co-Chair, Saint Luke’s Physician Group Neurosciences Division; and Co-Director, Neurosciences Service Line and Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute. His clinical interests include adult scoliosis, spinal deformity surgery, spinal cord tumors, minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal instability, spinal oncology, metastatic spine tumors, disc replacement surgery, and thoracic and lumbar spine surgery.
Dr. Bagley is passionate about learning and has focused his research on improving patient outcomes and surgical quality, reducing complications associated with spine surgery, and developing innovative approaches and strategies to treat complex spinal conditions. Previously, Dr. Bagley taught at the University of Texas Southwestern School of Medicine. He also instructed and mentored neurosurgery residents …at Duke University Medical Center.
Dr. Bagley was an NCAA Division 1 student athlete while obtaining his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with Distinction from Duke University. He completed his residency training in Neurosurgery and fellowship in Spinal Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He also completed the prestigious NIH Neuro-Oncology Research Fellowship Program.
