Dr. Oliveira chose neuropsychology in order to understand brain-behavior relationships in the context of various medical conditions. He was influenced as a young child by a childhood friend who was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Dr. Oliveira takes a special interest in research, including the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease. In his free time, he enjoys reading, spending time with his children and wife, exploring new places and deepening his spiritual faith. Helping others drew me to neuropsychology, a field where I can help an individual understand themselves from various intersecting identities, and from the biopsychosocial model. Together, we can collaboratively assess the individual to achieve a deeper appreciation of their circumstances and meaningful outcomes that are consistent with their values. I feel honored to be part of a person’s journey towards whole health.
