Before coming to Beth Israel Medical Center, Dr. Melone was the director of Orthopaedic Hand Surgery at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Melone is among New York Magazine’s “Best Doctors” for 2008, as listed in the June 16, 2008 edition of the magazine. The New York Magazine list is excerpted from Castle Connolly’s annual guidebook, “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area.” Dr. Melone is the hand surgeon for the New Jersey Nets, the New Jersey Devils and the Florida Marlins, as well as the hand surgery consultant for the Public School Athletic League, New York City Division. In addition, he is a former consultant to the New York Islanders and the New York Yankees. Dr. Melone serves as a member of the medical advisory board of the New York State Athletic Commission, and is a member of the Board of Regents of Georgetown University.
