Christopher “C.J.” Adcock is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has over 5 years of experience providing social work therapeutic interventions to assist with those struggling with life’s challenges. C.J. has experience working with individuals in all walks of life from the emergency room to retirement communities, including those struggling with anxiety/depression, grief/bereavement, trauma, and caregiving for those with Alzheimer’s/dementia. C.J. completed his Master of Social Work (MSW) at Virginia Commonwealth University and was trained as a clinician at MCV/VCU Health. Heuses a strength-based approach when beginning therapy, working with the client to understand the resources they have in their own life and to reduce the anxiety that often comes with introspection. Unraveling the emotions that tangle within us is often the first step in understanding ourselves and the challenges that we wish to surpass. From this point we work on who the client wishes to be and plan how …to get there. C.J. is here to establish a nonjudgmental relationship where a client can open themselves up to better understand their weaknesses, strengths, desires, and passions. By beginning to self-reflect on these aspects, they can increase their own self-confidence about how to live their life. C.J. wishes to be the clinician supporting clients through this process.
