Dr. Christopher Carl Phillips, MD

Dr. Christopher Phillips, FCCP, FACC, a heart and lung surgeon, is a member of the cardiovascular and thoracic team at Trinity Health.
Dr. Phillips comes to Minot via the Cleveland Clinic, home of AmericaÂ’s #1 ranked heart program. He performs valve repair & replacement, coronary artery bypass surgery, off-pump bypass, atrial fibrillation treatment, lung surgery, and minimal-access (small incision) heart and lung procedures.
A graduate of Ross University School of Medicine, Dominica, West Indies, Dr. Phillips served his General Surgery residency at University at Buffalo, NY, and completed his thoracic and cardiovascular surgery fellowship at Indiana University, Indianapolis, IN. He practiced in Jackson, TN, and Great Falls, MT, where he gained a reputation as a leader and innovator in heart & lung care.
As a staff surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic, he taught board fellows and residents operative techniques, clinical skills and management. During his time there, he gained additional …expertise in robotic and mini-mitral and aortic valve repair procedures.
Dr. Phillips is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Cardiology.
